Small Tea Bowl

Small Celadon Tea Bowl with carved ledges.

I have added an addition of Iron to the  clay body in this tea bowl which makes the clay at the foot ring look darker.   Just after throwing I carved little ledges into the surface to catch the glaze,  then I  applied a thick layer of white slip.  Finally this pieces was decorated with a thick layer of celadon glaze.  The contrast between the darker clay and the white slip highlights the carved ledges.
